Fireworks Over Rockport – Project 52 Week 8

Once again I’m digging a photo out of my archives.  Hopefully Nikon will have returned my camera by next week.  This photo was take on July 4, 2009 in Rockport, MA.  We spent the weekend at my sister-in-law’s place, which has a beautiful view of the beach.  I took this photo standing across the street from her driveway.  It was my first attempt at photographing fireworks.  I still have a lot to learn, but I love the contrast of the bright lights against the dark sky and the reflection of all the colors in the water.

Thanks! I used a tripod and set the exposure for 3 seconds to capture some of the arcing of the fireworks. I also used manual focus, because autofocus kept getting lost on the dark sky.
