Jean Dubois was born in France in 1659. He traveled to New France(Canada) and settled at Champlain, Quebec, where he married Catherine Jean Denis in 1688 and had a daughter Claude-Catherine in 1690. His wife Catherine must have died, as he married again in 1693 to Jeanne Raoult. They had the following children: Pierre, Marie Joseph, Marie Jean, Marie Charlotte, Joseph Marie, and Marie Anne. Jeanne died in 1709, and Jean Dubois took a third wife, marrying Antoinette Limousin on 17 January 1713. A week later they gave birth to a daughter Genevieve on 26 January. One year later they had a son Jean Baptiste. Jean Dubois lived a long life and died in 1738.
