Pierre was born in Canada in 1822. He was an orphan. His father died when Pierre was three, and his mother died after a second marriage, when Pierre was seven. At the age of 24, he married Marguerite Barabe at St. Pierre les Becquets in Quebec. He did not read or write. Pierre and Marguerite had eleven children, and they emigrated to America and settled in Lowell. He appears in the Lowell City Directory for the first time in 1878, living at 3 Aiken Avenue with Thelesphor Nault, probably his brother. Pierre died in 1889 at the age of 67 from heart disease.
